Here are 2 GIS Day activities I know of in our state. If you know of others, please share with the rest of community.

1. GIS Day at the Capitol Rotunda in Olympia
2. GIS Day at the University of Washington with our friends from CUGOS

1.GIS Day at the Capital Rotunda in Olympia
The state agencies and GIS community have worked hard to pull together a meaningful program that highlights the uses of GIS technology and the value it provides to state government.

The State Capitol Rotunda in Olympia
November 14, 2012
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

- There will be 26 formal presentations focusing on the use of the technology in: transportation, environment, marine, geology, community and cartography.
· Posters will be available for viewing throughout the day and activities like geocaching and Where in Washington to keep both young and old engaged.

9:00 – 9:15 Welcome to Washington State’s GIS Day, Bharat Shyam, WA State Chief Information Officer
9:15– 9:25 Announcing today’s Geocaching activity, Liz O'Dea, Department of Ecology
9:30– 12:00 Presentation sessions in the Senate Rules Room and the House Rules Room
9:30– 3:00 GIS Posters and Maps on Display in the Capitol Rotunda
9:30– 3:00 GIS Day Geocaching Event on Washington’s Capitol Campus
11:30– 12:00 Presentation sessions in the Columbia Room
12:00– 1:00 Break – Lunch
1:00– 3:00 Presentation sessions in the Senate Rules Room, House Rules Room and the Columbia Room
