Pierce County has an opportunity for an experienced GIS Programmer/Engineer. As a staff member in the GIS and Applications Division of the IT Department, this position will:
• Lead the development of integrated technology solutions utilizing ESRI/Open Source technologies
• Support information and technology systems on multiple computing platforms
• Plan for GIS-related technology deployment and implement the planned solutions
• Solve GIS/IT problems proactively
• Develop knowledge of the customer’s business and build expertise and technical knowledge among customers
• Provide senior level direction, assistance, and training to customers and other staff
• Deliver excellent customer service, measure and create customer satisfaction, and enhance customer relationships with the IT Department
• Research information technology in order to keep current on trends and build expertise among colleagues
• Communicate effectively with all levels of County staff, management, and elected officials
• Market services, projects, programs, and resources effectively
