Presenters at the 2008 Washington GIS Conference will earn 1 GISCI Contribution
Point for Conference Presentation or Conference Poster Display in addition
to points earned for attending the conference and being a member of WAURISA.
New for 2008: If your paper is chosen for presentation you may attend
a full-day Monday workshop for only $10 in addition to your conference
registration.
The conference will consist of an all day workshop on Monday and seminar tracks on Tuesday and Wednesday. The workshops will be presented on Open Souce GIS and GIS Program Management. Visit the workshop page for more information.

WAURISA, the Washington State Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association, announces the second annual Richard "Dick" Thomas award. This award is established to honor Washington State GIS pioneer and mentor Richard ‘Dick’ Thomas, who passed away in 2006. The intent of this award is to honor Dick by continuing his work of encouraging students to excel in their studies and to transition successfully into careers in the field of GIS. The deadline has been extended to Wednesday, March 26th for students to enter the Dick Thomas Memorial Student Presentations.
Nominate your GIS Person of the Year using the following criteria by sending a short description of their contributions to the GIS Community and why you think they should be awarded the GIS Person of the Year at the 2008 Washington GIS Conference. Please submit your nomination to the Conference Nomination Committee.
